Chelsea Loanee Abraham Misses England Training Ahead Of Clash Against The Eagles
Published: March 21, 2019Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham is unlikely to add to his international caps for England youth teams when the U21s face Poland in a friendly on Thursday evening.
The Aston Villa star is recovering from a calf injury he suffered against John Obi Mikel's Middlesbrough last weekend and did not participate in training on Wednesday, making his availability questionable.
On a personal level, it would be a big blow if Abraham does not feature as the former Bristol City striker has fond memories of Ashton Gate, venue of the meeting between the Young Lions and the White Eagles.
''He's improving but, with the time of the season, and what the players are going to as soon as they leave us, it's important we wrap them in cotton wool, look after them and make sure they all go back healthier than when they arrived," England U21 coach Aidy Boothroyd was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
Nigeria-eligible trio Dominic Solanke, Fikayo Tomori and Ademola Lookman were sighted training with the England U21 squad this week.
