Arsenal Eye Move For Barcelona Star To Provide Competition For Alex Iwobi
Published: March 29, 2019Arsenal are reportedly plotting a summer move for Barcelona's Brazilian winger Malcom to provide competition for Alex Iwobi.
According to Don Balon, Malcom who joined Barcelona last summer is valued in the region of fifty million euros but the Gunners as well as Tottenham Hotspur are willing to pay €35 million to sign him on a permanent basis.
The Gunners are believed to be in the market for a winger as Iwobi is the only natural winger at the club and Denis Suárez could return to Barcelona at the end of the season after failing to impress since his loan move in the January transfer window.
Since breaking into the first team around three years ago, Iwobi is having his best season in terms of goals, having netted five in all competitions and providing seven more.
Malcom has not enjoyed much playing time under Ernesto Valverde, making just one start in La Liga since his move from Bordeaux, who signed Samuel Kalu as his replacement.
Iwobi has returned to Arsenal after playing two matches for the Super Eagles during the international break.
