Young Nigerian GK Included In Chelsea U18s Match Day Squad For The First Time
Published: March 31, 2019Young Nigerian goalkeeper Kelechi Chibueze is inching closer to making his competitive debut for Chelsea U18, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Chelsea U18s coach Andy Myers included the 15-year-old in the match day squad on Saturday as they were held to a goalless draw by Norwich City in the U18 Premier League.
Ola Aina's sibling, Jordan started his second consecutive match in the league for only the first time this season and was in action for 74 minutes before he was replaced.
Chibueze helped Chelsea to lift the Premier League U16 Cup about two weeks ago, starting in goal in the showpiece final against London rivals Arsenal.
The 2003-born goalkeeper has represented England at U15 level and captained the U16s this season.
He becomes eligible to pen a scholarship deal with Chelsea before the start of the 2020-2021 campaign.
