Arsenal-Linked Midfielder Aribo Scores As Charlton Rout Scunthorpe United
Published: April 22, 2019Championship promotion hopefuls Charlton Athletic saw off Scunthorpe United 4-0 at the Valley on game week 44 in the League One on Monday, April 22.
The Addicks had taken the maximum nine points from their last three home games before today's fixture and continued their good form with a comprehensive win against The Iron who had Funso Ojo in the starting lineup.
Ojo, a former Belgium youth international, missed a golden chance to equalise as he fired wide from six yards three minutes into first-half stoppage time.
On 57 minutes, Joe Aribo jumped highest to power home a header from a corner kick taken by Ben Reeves and gave Charlton Athletic a two-goal cushion.
The midfielder then turned provider for the third goal, dancing towards the box before slipping in Vetokele who rolled the ball into the net.
Aribo, who has tallied seven goals in 34 matches this campaign, was replaced with eleven minutes left on the clock.
He comes off contract with Charlton Athletic at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Arsenal.
