Tammy Abraham May Be First-Choice Striker Next Season For Goal-Shy Chelsea News emanating from Italy might just have confirmed that Chelsea are not interested in re-engaging Gonzalo Higuain after his loan spell with the club expires at the end of the season, opening the door for Tammy Abraham to become the club's hitman in the coming season.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Higuian's disastrous stint in England since joining from Juventus in January, with a meagre four goals in fourteen games has done him no good and it is now certain he will be on his way back to Turin.

Abraham on his part, has enjoyed a fanfare season at Aston Villa this term, scoring 25 goals from 37 league games and was recently named to the PFA Sky Bet Championship Team of the Year.

With a two-season transfer ban hovering over the Stamford Bridge outfit, Chelsea will understandably be in need of his services come next season and could swat away possible advances, with Everton the latest on the list of his growing suitors.

The 32-year-old striker, Olivier Giroud has managed a paltry five league goals in 38 matches since joining in the 2017-2018 campaign, a tally which has made manager Maurizio Sarri lose trust in him.

Alvaro Morata who is the other out-and-out forward owned by the Blues underwhelmed for the part during his adventure here, forcing the club's hierarchy to sanction his loan move to Atletico Madrid for the remainder of the season.

Fast, skilled and with that goal-poacher's ability to get in behind defenders and score crucial goals, the 21-year-old is thoroughly envisaged to fit the bill as Chelsea prepare to mount another assault on domestic glory next season having seen their woes in front of goal cost them dear.
