Iwobi Is EPL Academy Graduate With Most Games Ahead Of Man Utd, Spurs, Chelsea Stars
Published: May 17, 2019Alex Iwobi is the Premier League academy graduate with the most appearances in all competitions this season, according to a research carried out by The Sportsman.
The Hale End Academy product has racked up 50 appearances so far this season and that could increase by one, with Arsenal facing off with Chelsea in the Europa League final on May 29.
Iwobi played three more games than Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, while Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Winks and Chelsea's Ruben Loftus-Cheek appeared in 40 official games each this term.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) and Harry Kane (Tottenham) were joint-fifth with 39 games played across all competitions.
Iwobi took his tally of appearances in the Premier League to 35 after going the distance vs Burnley on May 12, he has played 10 games in the Europa League, featured in 3 matches in the League Cup and 2 in the FA Cup.
Prior to this season, the left winger's personal appearance record was 39 in the 2017-2018 campaign.
