Rangers Target Aribo To Hold Showdown Talks With Charlton Over His Future
Published: June 19, 2019Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo is set to hold showdown talks with Charlton Athletic ahead of a transfer to Scottish Premiership side Rangers, according to reports.
The Evening Standard is reporting that Aribo will meet manager Lee Bowyer on Friday when he plans to quit the club.
It is believed the midfielder has rejected an offer from The Addicks to sign a new contract and will become a free agent at the end of this month.
Rangers want to strengthen their midfield this summer and have held talks with the 22-year-old and his camp in recent days.
Scottish champions Celtic have also shown an interest in Aribo but Rangers are leading the race for his signature, ahead of Championship and Premier League clubs in England.
Rangers would have to pay Charlton around 250,000 pounds in compensation if Aribo joins the club.
