Promising Nigerian Striker Opens Goalscoring Account For Manchester United
Promising Nigerian striker Dillon Hoogewerf has opened his goalscoring account for Manchester United following the confirmation of his transfer to the Old Trafford outfit last Friday.

The former Ajax Amsterdam wonderkid got on the scoresheet as United U17 team beat Aston Villa 3-2 in a friendly on Wednesday.

The 2003-born player converted a spot kick, while England U15 sensation Omari Forson bagged a brace.

A day after Manchester United received Hoogewerf's international clearance, he came off the bench to make his debut for their U18 team in their 3-0 rout of Sunderland on the opening day of the season.

Though he did not score a debut goal, he showed glimpses of his quality in the win against The Black Cats and could make his full debut against Wolves on Saturday, August 17.

Born to a Nigerian mother and Dutch father, Hoogewerf is not provisionally cap-tied to the Netherlands despite having caps for their U15 and U16 teams.
