Manchester United's Nigeria-Eligible Striker Named To Latest Netherlands U17 Roster
Published: November 04, 2019Manchester United striker of Nigerian descent, Dillon Hoogewerf has been included in the latest Netherlands U17 squad, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
For the third international break of the 2019-2020 season, KNVB coach Mischa Visser has called up 21 players for the trip to United States, where they will play friendly matches against the hosts and Turkey.
The back-to-back European U17 champions face the United States on November 14, then Turkey on November 16 and finally the United States Under 18 two days later.
Should he switch his allegiance to Nigeria in future, Hoogewerf has to apply to FIFA for a change of association after making his competitive debut for the Dutch U17 squad in a European Championship qualifier against Kosovo last month.
In-form Sparta Rotterdam starlet Emanuel Emegha, who was initially included in a 33-man provisional squad, did not make the final list announced on Monday by the Dutch Federation.
The center forward has registered his name on the scoresheet nine times in his last five games in the Preliminary round U17 Eredivisie.
Hoogewerf and Emegha previously represented Netherlands U15 squad.
