U23 AFCON: The Exact Date Nigeria U23 Skipper Will Report For International Duty In Egypt
Published: November 07, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Azubuike Okechukwu has revealed the exact date he will link up with the Nigeria U23 national team in Egypt for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Dream Team VII captain has given his word that he will arrive in Cairo on November 11, a day before the Imama Amapakabo led team do battle with Zambia in their second Group B fixture.
Okechukwu hopes to feature in the match against Zambia and it is expected he will be involved in some part of the Nigeria U23s final training session next Monday.
If you consider the fact that the flight time from Istanbul to Cairo is less than two and a half hours, then there is no problem if he is included in the starting line-up by coach Amapakabo.
The central midfielder and his Istanbul Basaksehir teammates arrived in Austria on Wednesday and he could play a part against Wolfsberger AC in tonight's Europa League fixture at the Merkur Arena (Graz).
Okechukwu featured in the last Olympic Games held in Brazil, when he was the assistant to captain John Obi Mikel.
