Exclusive: West Ham To Run The Rule Over Arsenal's Nigerian Midfielder For Two Weeks
Published: November 10, 2019Arsenal youth-teamer Malcolm Ebiowei is expected to undergo trials with West Ham for a duration of two weeks before the Premier League club can be able to make a verdict on the youngster, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
As exclusively reported by this website, the Nigeria U17 invitee was in action twice for the club's youth teams yesterday, starting and scoring in a 3-1 loss to Leicester City U-16s before proceeding to dazzle in a 19 minute-cameo for the U18 side in an U18 Premier League fixture.
Ebiowei was regarded as one of the most talented teenagers to emerge from the Hale End Academy before he was declared surplus to requirements and it is understood Arsenal passed up the opportunity of offering him a scholarship deal due to some complications on the player's part.
Most clubs are aware of the talents of the attacking midfielder and will understandably explore ways of signing him, but the Hammers are now in pole position having taken him under their wings.
If his audition with the club goes smoothly and turns out fine, Ebiowei will sign an initial scholarship deal with West Ham and play for their youth teams.
He will only be eligible to sign his first professional contract on 4th September 2020 .
