FC Midtjylland Latest Club To Pass Up Chance To Sign Golden Eagles Striker
Published: November 14, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland are the latest club to pass up the chance to sign Nigeria U17 international Wisdom Ubani.
The Giant Brillers frontman had emerged as a transfer target for Midtjylland following his impressive performances for the Golden Eaglets at the 2019 U17 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored three goals to finish as the second top scorer of the tournament held in Tanzania.
Ubani also showed he is a free-kick expert in Tanzania, scoring one of the goals of the tournament from long range, his second goal, in a 5-4 win against the hosts.
The 16-year-old was the most coveted Nigeria U17s player after the AFCON, with the likes of R.S.C. Anderlecht and FC Midtjylland scrambling for his signature.
The Danish club are no longer interested in signing Ubani after he struggled at the ongoing World Cup in Brazil, where he was in the shadows of Samson Tijani, Akinkunmi Amoo, Ibrahim Said and Olusegun Olakunle.
The striker and his minders had snubbed a pre-contract offer from FC Midtjylland after the Africa Cup of Nations as they hoped to get millions from his sale after the World Cup.
