Published: January 18, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Godfrey Oboabona has ended speculation about his future after signing a contract with Georgian club FC Dinamo Batumi.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning central defender has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the Erovnuli Liga outfit, until the end of the 2020 season.
Oboabona has a chance to display his wares in next season's Europa League by virtue of Dinamo Batumi finishing the 2019 campaign as the second best team in the Georgian top-flight.
He had been on the lookout for a new club after parting company with HNK Gorica at the end of the 2018-2019 season.
During his time with the Croatian club, the former Sunshine Stars captain made 14 appearances in the league.
Oboabona started his career abroad in Turkey with Caykur Rizespor, where he spent four years, before switching to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.
The 29-year-old could make his competitive debut for Dinamo Batumi in their league opener against Merani Tbilisi on February 29.
