Talented Chelsea Midfielder Of Nigerian Descent On The Verge Of Signing New Long-term Contract
Published: March 12, 2020Promising midfielder of Nigerian descent, Faustino Anjorin is close to signing a new long-term contract with Chelsea, according to various reports in the English press.
The online edition of The Sun UK says the Poole-born Anjorin is poised to commit his future to the Blues for five years.
An England U19 international, he joined Chelsea at the age of six, rising through the ranks before making his professional debut against Grimsby Town in September 2019.
Just last weekend, he was handed his Premier League debut by manager Frank Lampard, playing the last nineteen minutes as Chelsea thrashed Everton 4-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are keen to tie down Anjorin to a new deal because he is one of the most outstanding players at the academy and they feel he has a first team future with the club.
The 18-year-old's current deal with the London club expires at the end of the 2020-2021 season.
