'Ighalo Has Shown His Quality' - Shaka Hislop Urges Man Utd To Give Striker Permanent Deal
Published: March 14, 2020Former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop has urged Manchester United to sign Odion Ighalo on a permanent deal.
The
2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer joined the Red Devils on loan for
the remainder of the 2019-2020 season in the winter transfer market and
has been in good form, with four goals in his first three starts.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team struggled to get going in attack following
the injury suffered by England striker Marcus Rashford before the
capture of Ighalo who has brought out the best in Anthony Martial.
In quotes carried by Express UK citing ESPN, Hislop said : "He has [done alright].
"He still hasn’t scored a league goal but I think that’s being unfair to Ighalo who, when called on, has shown his quality.
"We saw that in the Europa League on Thursday.
"I think you keep him, it gives you an option and I think Ighalo is more than happy to play second fiddle to a fit [Marcus] Rashford or whoever it may be. This makes sense for me."

The 30-year-old Ighalo has a contract with Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua until December 2021.
