Former Flying Eagles Star Osuchukwu Still In Action In Europe Despite Coronavirus Pandemic
Published: March 20, 2020Former Nigeria U20 international Chidi Osuchukwu is still in action in Europe despite the coronavirus pandemic, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Following the suspension of the Turkish top-flight on Thursday, the Belarusian Premier League is the only active league in Europe and the new season began on Thursday, March 19.
New Ruh Brest signing Osuchukwu made his competitive debut on Friday evening as his team defeated Dinamo Minsk 1-0 at Stadyen Dynama (Minsk).
Wearing the number 8 jersey, the central midfielder was in action for the entire duration of the game and looked lively.
He was involved in the build-up to the only goal of the game when his corner kick was headed home by Oleksiy Kovtun in the 26th minute.
Osuchukwu came very close to doubling the away team's advantage but his free kick was palmed away by goalkeeper Plotnikov.
Last season, the former Sporting Braga ace won the Belarusian Premier League and Belarus Super Cup with Dynamo Brest.
