Three Nigeria-Eligible Strikers Congratulate Hoogewerf On New Manchester United Contract
Published: March 27, 2020Three Nigeria-eligible strikers in Shola Shoretire, Ayodeji Sotona and Noah Ohio have taken to social media to congratulate Dillon Hoogewerf on signing a new contract with Manchester United.
Hoogewerf rejected the opportunity to sign a professional contract with Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam before sealing a transfer to Manchester United last summer.
And less than a year later, he has inked his first professional deal with the Premier League giants.
Sotona and Hoogewerf started the 2019-2020 season as first-year scholars at the Red Devils while Shoretire is a schoolboy even though he is a key member of the U18 team of the Old Trafford outfit.
Ohio, 17, had stops at Manchester United and Manchester City youth teams before joining RB Leipzig in July 2019.
Hoogewerf wrote on Instagram: "Really happy to sign my first professional contract, can't wait to get back to the training ground and continue the hard work".
Replying to his social media post, Sotona said : "My brother !👏🏾".
Ohio added : "Congratulations my brother ❤️❤️".
Shoretire applauded the diminutive striker : "👏🏽❤️".
The 17-year-old Hoogewerf is qualified to represent Nigeria through his mother but he is provisionally cap-tied to the Netherlands.
