All Eyes On Manchester City Old Boy Adarabioyo As Fulham Face Guardiola's Team
Published: December 05, 2020All eyes will certainly be on Nigerian defender Tosin Adarabiyo in this afternoon's English Premier League clash between Manchester City and Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester-born Adarabioyo was on the books of Manchester City for seventeen years, rising through the academy ranks before he was handed his first team debut by manager Manuel Pellegrini in an Emirates FA Cup defeat to Chelsea in February 2016.
A ball-playing center back, he went on to make eight appearances in total across all competitions before joining Fulham on a permanent deal in the summer transfer window.
Having failed to break into Man City's first team under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola, the 23-year-old was loaned out to West Brom and Blackburn Rovers in back-to-back seasons in a bid to get regular playing time.
Adarabioyo has shown he has all the tools needed to excel in the Premier League following his move to Fulham, with his impressive performances at the heart of defence.
The former England youth international has started the last six matches played by the Cottagers and has proved to be a disciplined defender with only one yellow card received, shown to him for time wasting in the last game at Leicester City.
He will be looking to prove a point that Guardiola was wrong in his decision not to give him more playing opportunities during his stint at the Etihad Stadium.
