Chelsea Loanee Uwakwe Has Hand In Two Goals In First League Game Since October
Published: December 07, 2020Chelsea loanee Tariq Uwakwe was one of the key players for Accrington Stanley as they registered a 2-1 win over Milton Keynes Dons in a League One clash staged at Wham Stadium on Saturday evening.
He last figured for Accrington Stanley in a 1-0 win vs Fleetwood Town on October 20 before the visit of MK Dons.
Uwakwe has struggled with ankle and knee injuries since joining the Reds on loan which saw him omitted from four matchday squads in the division.
But it appears his injury problems are over going by his eye-catching display against MK Dons, with the Chelsea-owned winger involved in the two goals scored by Accrington Stanley.
In the 8th minute, Dion Charles turned in the winger's cross to make it 1-0 and a fine delivery into the area from the Anglo-Nigerian led to his second goal just past the hour mark.
Uwakwe started the season in blistering fashion, netting a hat-trick on his professional debut against Leeds United in the EFL Trophy, before finding the net on his League One debut against Peterborough United.
The 21-year-old has eleven appearances under his belt for Accrington Stanley this term, logging 748 minutes in all competitions.
