Three Nigerian Stars Help Glasgow Rangers Set New Scottish Record In European Competitions Glasgow Rangers rounded off their UEFA Europa League group stage with a 2-0 win over Lech Poznan at the
INEA stadion on Thursday evening, with three players of Nigerian descent involved for the Light Blues.

Manager Steven Gerrard handed starts to Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo while exciting left-back Calvin Bassey entered the game as a substitute in the 81st minute to replace the Super Eagles center back.

By finishing top of Group D with 14 points, Rangers set a new Scottish record - the highest-ever European points tally for a Scottish club in a European Group stage.

Goals from Itten and Hagi give Rangers victory, their fourth win in the group and saw them finish two points clear of Benfica.

Balogun was one of the standout players for Rangers in the Europa League group stage, starting five of their six matches and helped the team to keep three clean sheets.

Aribo also featured in five Europa League games, two of which he started, and Bassey appeared in three games off the bench.

Rangers, who are seeded by virtue of topping their group, will discover their opponents in the round of 32 when the draw takes place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, on Monday 14 December.
