Confirmed : Nigeria's All-time Top Scorer In MLS History Out Of Contract At Columbus Crew
Published: January 02, 2021Former Super Eagles invitee Fanendo Adi is in search of a new club following the expiration of his contract with Major League Soccer club Columbus Crew at the end of December.
MLS Cup-winning Columbus Crew confirmed via their official website last month that Adi is among three players out of contract and the club will remain in dialogue with the players with a view to a possible extension ahead of the 2021 season.
With 55 goals in 147 appearances combined, the former FC Copenhagen man is the top scoring Nigerian player in the history of Major League Soccer ahead of Obafemi Martins with 40.
Adi wore the colours of Portland Timbers and Cincinnati before he was acquired by Columbus Crew last January.
The 30-year-old made nine appearances for the Crew in the regular season and was on the bench when they beat Seattle Sounders in the final of the MLS Cup 2020.
Apart from the aforementioned clubs, Adi previously wore the jerseys of Dynamo Kiev, AS Trencin, Metallurg Donetsk and SK Tavriya Simferopol.
