Scottish Club Motherwell Make Offer To Sign Ex-Super Eagles Invitee But Face Competition
Published: January 05, 2021Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Scottish Premiership club Motherwell have reignited their interest in Birmingham City academy product Viv Solomon-Otabor after missing out on his signature last summer.
Solomon-Otabor is currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract with EFL League One club Wigan Athletic on Monday, January 4.
The Latics were keen to retain the services of the winger beyond this month but faced a stumbling block, the troubled third-tier club have been in administration since July.
Solomon-Otabor was one of the standout performers for Wigan before suffering a long-term injury during a league match with Plymouth on October 24.
The former Super Eagles invitee is studying a fresh offer from Motherwell and it remains to be seen if they will agree to his demands.
EFL League One and Championship clubs have enquired about the availability of Solomon-Otabor while teams based in Belgium and Cyprus are mulling over a move for the tricky winger in this window.
Solomon-Otabor has racked up 98 appearances in the Football League since his debut in September 2015.
