Wigan Athletic Winger Solomon-Otabor Steps Up His Return To Fitness With 45 Minutes For U23s
Former Super Eagles invitee Viv Solomon-Otabor stepped up his recovery from injury as he was in action for Wigan Athletic U23s against Coventry City on Thursday afternoon.

The Birmingham City academy product played the entirety of the first half in the Professional Development League fixture at Christopher Park and came through the game unscathed.

In the 47th minute, Jonny Ngandu gave Coventry City the lead but the Latics leveled within three minutes as substitute Sean McGurk, who replaced Solomon-Otabor at half-time, fired home.

Solomon-Otabor has not figured for Wigan Athletic's first team since suffering a serious ankle injury in a league game with Plymouth Argyle on October 24, 2020.

Prior to his spell on the sidelines he was having a very good season, starting Wigan's first eight games of the season and providing two assists.

The 25-year-old attracted interest from Charlton Athletic and Doncaster Rovers before extending his stay at the DW Stadium on transfer deadline day.
