'Imperious' - Leicester City hero lavishes praise on Ndidi after brilliant display vs Southampton
Published: April 20, 2021Leicester City legend Matt Elliot lavished praise on Wilfred Ndidi in the wake of the Foxes' 1-0 win over Southampton in the semifinals of the Emirates FA Cup.
Playing in a holding midfield role, Ndidi's quality came to the fore, helping goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to keep a clean sheet.
Eliiot pointed out that Leicester City were in control of the game and the Saints could not find a breakthrough as Ndidi and his midfield partner Youri Tielemans made the defence compact by breaking up play.
Assessing Leicester City's win on LCFC Radio, Elliot said : "Genuinely they just couldn't find a way through Leicester's rearguard - the back five.
"The back three in particular were imperious and then Wilfred Ndidi in front.
"Tielemans and Ndidi were breaking up play, on and off constantly throughout the game, and that's where Leicester City got their joy in the first half."

Brendan Rodgers' team will face Chelsea in the FA Cup showpiece on May 15, thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho's winning goal against the Saints on 55 minutes.
