Leicester interested in signing flamboyant PSV Eindhoven winger dubbed 'New Riyad Mahrez'
Published: April 27, 2021Talented PSV Eindhoven winger Nonso Madueke is reportedly attracting interest from top European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Daily Mail UK, Madueke is on the agenda of Leicester City but the Premier League side face competition for his signature, with RB Leipzig, AC Milan and Lille also among his admirers.
Brendan Rodgers attempted to sign the England U21 international whilst coaching Celtic but the former Tottenham Hotspur schoolboy opted to join PSV in 2018.
It is claimed that any club interested in signing Madueke would have to splash out fifteen million pounds as transfer fee.
PSV hope to keep the Anglo-Nigerian for one more season to increase his asking price but would consider selling the player if they receive a good offer, especially if they don't qualify for the group stage of the Champions League next season.
He has performed extremely well since breaking into PSV's first team, contributing to 17 goals (9 goals, 8 assists) in 33 matches across all competitions.
According to Youth expert Football Talent Scout,
Madueke has a similar playing style to former Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez
and his main attributes are his pace, acceleration, dribbling, passing
and ball control.
Madueke's contract at PSV Eindhoven runs out at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
