Solskjaer runs the rule over Nigeria-eligible winger before Man Utd's clash against Roma
Published: April 28, 2021Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seemingly included Shola Shoretire in his provisional squad list for Thursday night's Europa League semifinal clash against AS Roma at Old Trafford.
The England youth international of Nigerian descent has been pictured training with United's first team stars before the visit of the Italian opponents.
Solskjaer is running the rule over Shoretire and two other academy stars, namely Mejbri and Anthony Elanga before making a decision on their involvement.
The Anglo-Nigerian was omitted from Manchester United's Europa League roster (List A) submitted back in February, but has been registered on List B, containing players who are U21 and have been on the books of the club for an uninterrupted period of two years since their 15th birthday.
Four days ago, the winger reminded everyone of his attacking qualities by scoring a first half brace as Manchester United defeated Chelsea 4-2 in the Premier League 2.
Shoretire was a different level than his opponents and they resorted to fouling him - leading to him hobbling off the pitch injured in the 78th minute.
The 17-year-old has been named in all the matchday squads for United's home fixtures in the knockout rounds of the Europa League this season.
