Spartak hint at signing 2013 AFCON winner from Chelsea ahead of opening of transfer window
Published: June 17, 2021Russian side Spartak Moscow have hinted at signing 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner Victor Moses on a permanent deal from Chelsea.
The Russian transfer window will officially open for business on June 28, 2021 and the end of the registration period is September 7, 2021.
Through their official Instagram account, Spartak have confirmed that the former Nigeria international is among the players who are already training under the guidance of new coach Rui Vitoria.
Moses joined the Red-and-Whites on a temporary basis last October and the loan deal came with a mandatory option to buy set at five million euros if they qualify for next season's Champions League.
It is believed that the clause was automatically activated after they finished second in the Russian Premier League table.
Before Spartak's trip to their training camp in Tarasovka, Moses and other first team players were examined by doctors, and the physical training coaches checked the players for functional readiness.
Moses impressed during his loan spell at Spartak, especially in the second half of the campaign, contributing three goals and three assists in his last ten matches.
The 30-year-old is departing Chelsea after a series of loan spells that took him to Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham, Fenerbahce, Inter Milan and Spartak Moscow.
