Ex-Man Utd striker Ighalo sees his market value drop despite outstanding season at Al-Shabab
Former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo has seen his market value drop despite a brilliant start to his career at Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al-Shabab, whom he joined in the winter transfer market.

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer directly participated in 12 goals (9 goals, 3 goals) from thirteen appearances in the second half of last season, helping A-Shabab finish second in the table and qualify for the AFC Champions League.

Ighalo's downgrade by Transfermarkt, from €4m to €3.5, could be as a result of his age and his move to Asia; the former Watford man celebrated his 32nd birthday this week.

He is the fourth most expensive Al-Shabab player behind Fábio Martins (€9m), éver Banega (€4.5m) and Cristian Guanca (€4m).

When it comes to Nigerian players over the age of 30, only Chelsea's Victor Moses (€6.5m) and Trabzonpsor's Anthony Nwakaeme (€5m) have a higher market value than Ighalo.

Ighalo's highest market value was attained on February 9, 2016 when he was rated at €12m due to the fact that he was linked with some of the top teams in the Premier League, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
