Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has announced his starting lineup for Friday evening's 2022 World Cup qualifying match against Liberia at Teslim Balogun Stadium, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Maduka Okoye has been picked to be in between the pipes - a decision that sees Francis Uzoho and Daniel Akpeyi remain on the bench.

There was a hint that the Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper was retaining his place in the starting line-up after he was selected for media duties at Thursday's official pre-match press conference.

Watford's William Troost-Ekong and Rangers' Leon Balogun have taken up the center back positions and they will be flanked by Chelsea academy product Ola Aina and Paderborn left-back Jamilu Collins.

In the engine room are United Kingdom-based duo Wilfred Ndidi and Rangers ace Joe Aribo.

Victor Osimhen will spearhead the attack, while Hale End Academy product Alex Iwobi, Leicester City's Kelechi Iheanacho and Nantes' Moses Simon complete the front four.
