2022 WCQ: Olympiakos & Shamrock Rovers stars, 23 others named in Cape Verde 25-man squad
The Cape Verdean Football Federation have announced a 25-man roster for the national team's upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifying matches against Central African Republic and Nigeria, Expresso das Ilhas has reported.

The Super Eagles will be locking horns with the Blue Sharks at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday, November 16 in the final round of matches in Group C.

Cape Verde are Nigeria's nearest challengers in the group, with two points separating both teams heading into this month's games.

Manager Bubista has called in three goalkeepers, eight defenders, six midfielders and eight forwards for both matches.

Shamrock Rovers defender Roberto Lopes, Olympiakos star Garry Rodrigues and Lokomotiv Moscow's Zé Luís have been selected in the group.

The Cape Verde players have been told to report for international duty as from Sunday, November 7  in São Vicente.

Three-time African champions Nigeria defeated Cape Verde 2-1 in the first leg thanks to Victor Osimhen's strike and an own goal by Rocha Santos.

Forwards: Ryan Mendes, Al Nasr (UAE), Willy Semedo, Paphos (Cyprus), Willis Furtado, FK Jerv (Norway), Garry Rodrigues, Olympiacos (Greece), Vagner Dias, FC Sion (Switzerland), Zé Luís, Lokomotiv Moscow (Russia), Júlio Tavares, Al Faisaly (Saudi Arabia) and Gilson Tavares, Estoril-Praia (Portugal).
