AFCON : Super Eagles star Iheanacho targets record-equaling strike against Falcons
Kelechi Iheanacho is targeting a record-equaling strike when Nigeria face off with Sudan in an Africa Cup of Nations tie at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium, Garoua on Saturday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

If the Leicester City striker finds the back of the net against the Falcons, he would become the first Nigerian player to score in his first two Africa Cup of Nations appearances since Emmanuel Emenike in January 2013.

Emenike netted on his AFCON debut in a 1-1 draw versus Burkina Faso and also got on the scoresheet the following matchday against Zambia.

And in doing so, the former Fenerbahce and Spartak Moscow star equaled the record of scoring in each of his first two games for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations first achieved by the legendary Segun Odegbami at AFCON 1978.

While Odegbami tallied three goals combined against Upper Volta (now Burkina Faso) and Ghana, Emenike netted twice.

Iheanacho scored the game-winning goal against Egypt with a sweetly-struck left-footed strike into the top corner, assisted by Joe Aribo.
