Snapped : Tottenham product Madueke named in PSV's traveling squad to face Arsenal
Published: October 19, 2022PSV Eindhoven have been handed a timely boost heading into Thursday's Europa League meeting against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in London, with England U21 international of Nigerian descent Nonso Madueke in contention to make his season debut for the Eredivisie powerhouse.
PSV have uploaded pictures on social media of some of the players named in the traveling squad to the English capital, with Madueke part of the group.
Madueke will be relishing the prospect of facing the Gunners given his Tottenham Hotspur past.
The attacking midfielder cum winger spent four years at the Tottenham Hotspur academy, from 2014-2018, and then joined PSV after declining a scholarship at the north London club.
Madueke has yet to feature in a first team game this season due to an ankle injury he sustained during pre-season preparations.
He was in the PSV squad that held Leicester City to a goalless draw at the King Power Stadium in the quarterfinals of the Europa Conference League back in April - his only competitive game against English opposition since he was acquired by the Dutch club.
The match between Arsenal and PSV was supposed to be played in September, but due to Queen Elizabeth's funeral, too few police were available in London and the match was postponed to Thursday.
