Shoretire battles Rashford, Ronaldo, Antony, 12 others for Man Utd Goal of the Month
Published: November 02, 2022
Anglo-Nigerian striker Shoretire is in the running to win Manchester United's Goal of the Month award for October 2022.
The Red Devils academy product has been nominated for the accolade for his brilliant goal against League One side Fleetwood Town in the Papa Johns Trophy.
In the second minute of stoppage time, the England U19 international turned and fired the ball into the back of the net after receiving a perfect pass from Tom Huddlestone to send the game to penalties.
He scored four more goals for United's U21s last month, all of them coming in the Premier League 2, against Blackburn Rovers, Chelsea (2) and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Also nominated for Manchester United's Goal of the Month prize are efforts from first team stars Marcus Rashford, Cristiano Ronaldo, Antony, Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, and Diogo Dalot.
Completing the 16-goal shortlist are Ethan Williams, Nikita Parris, Alejandro Garnacho, Vilde Bøe Risa, Hayley Ladd, Adam Berry and Marc Jurado.
Manchester United Goal of the Month is open to goals scored by the men's, women's, Under-21s and Under-18s sides.
Jadon Sancho and Antony won the award for August and September respectively.
