Allnigeriasoccer.com's review of the Nigeria-eligible players that found the net for their respective foreign clubs in league and cup matches on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Fortune Bassey opened his goalscoring account in the Czech Fortuna Liga as Viktoria Plzeň thrashed Zbrojovka Brno 4-0 at the
Doosan Aréna (Plzeň).
Six minutes after coming off the bench, Bassey wrapped up the scoring. His first goal for Viktoria Plzeň came in his seventeenth appearance across all competitions.
In the German 3 Liga, Ayodele Adetula 75th minute strike counted for nothing with VfB Oldenburg losing 3-1 to FC Saarbrücken.
It was his first goal of the season, having recovered from a torn lateral collateral ligament injury that kept him sidelined for several weeks.
Elsewhere, former Galatasary winger Jesse Sekidika's goal proved crucial for Eyupspor in a 2-1 win over Düzcespor in the Turkish Cup.
Sekidika doubled Eyupsor's lead in the 77th minute but the opponents pulled one back with seven minutes remaining.
Paul Onuachu continued his rich vein of form with the decisive goal for Racing Genk in a hard fought 1-0 win over KVC Westerlo in the Belgian Cup.
Fifteen minutes in, the Super Eagles striker was on hand to tap in the rebound after his first attempt was blocked by Westerlo goalie Gillekens. He now has 13 goals for the season.
Rasheed Akanbi scored for the third game in a row as FC Sheriff registered a 2-0 win against Misami in the Moldovan Cup.
After Akanbi opened the scoring in the 37th minute, his Nigerian teammate Iyayi Atiemwen doubled the advantage three minutes into the second half.
