Man Utd name talented teenager of Nigerian descent in travelling squad to face Fulham
Published: November 13, 2022
Shola Shoretire is in contention to be named in Manchester United's matchday squad for the fourth consecutive game.
According to Manchester Evening News, the talented teenager of Nigerian descent was among the Manchester United players that traveled to London via train on Saturday afternoon ahead of Sunday's Premier League game against Fulham.
Manager Erik ten Hag has taken a squad of at least twenty players for the meeting with the Cottagers and there was no sighting of Jadon Sancho, Ronaldo and Antony in the group, improving the chances of Shoretire making the matchday squad this evening.
The 18-year-old winger could make his first appearance for the first team since the appointment of the Dutch coach, having remained an unused substitute in back-to-back matches against Real Sociedad and Aston Villa.
Shoretire wasn't in the Manchester United U21 squad beaten 2-0 by Monaco in the Premier League International Cup as he was with the first team before the game.
He was nominated for Manchester United's Goal of the Month and Premier League 2 Player of the Month but missed out on both awards,
Tosin Adarabioyo should be available for Fulham but the Anglo-Nigerian central defender is not a guaranteed starter these days with only one start in the last five Premier League matches played by the Londoners.
