Official : Chelsea complete signings of two young stars
Published: January 07, 2023Through their official website, Chelsea announced on Saturday that the signings of two talented young players have been completed.
Teenage midfielder Andrey Santos has joined the Blues from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama.
The Brazil youth international made a splash last season, scoring eight goals in 33 matches to help Vasco da Gama earn promotion to the Brazilian topflight from the Serie B.
Santos made his debut for Vasco da Gama as a late substitute in the Campeonato Carioca, a tournament for teams in the local area of Rio de Janeiro.
Ivory Coast international David Datro Fofana has finalized his transfer to Chelsea, with the young striker putting pen to paper on a six-and-a-half-year contract with an option to extend for a further year.
The 20-year-old departs Norwegian champions Molde after an impressive 34 goal involvements (24 goals, 10 assists) in 65 appearances across all competitions.
A product of Amadou Diallo Football Academy, Fofana was on the books of Molde for two seasons.
He has already started training with Chelsea's first team before a decision is made on his future, whether to loan him out to continue his development or keep him at the club for the second half of the season.
