Man Utd want to make N48.3b-rated Super Eagles star their marquee summer signing
Published: January 10, 2023English Premier League giants Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for Nigeria international Victor Osimhen.
According to Tutto Napoli, via Manchester Evening News, Manchester United want to make the Napoli striker their big summer signing.
The Red Devils are on the hunt for a new center forward following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo but getting the ideal candidate is unlikely to be a reality in the January transfer window.
Burnley forward Wout Weghorst has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford as a stopgap solution, with a loan move until the end of the season being mooted.
Osimhen will enter the last two years of his contract with Napoli at the end of the 2022-2023 campaign and it is logical for The Parthenopeans to cash in on the 24-year-old this summer or offer him a new contract.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner is valued in the region of 100 million euros (approximately N48.3b in Nigerian currency) by Napoli chiefs, an affordable price tag for the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
Since joining Napoli in 2020, Osimhen has mustered 39 goals in 78 all-competition appearances.
