Announcement imminent : Arsenal loan out 21yo of Nigerian descent for second time in 6 months
Published: January 15, 2023English Premier League table toppers Arsenal are on the verge of announcing that goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has been loaned out for the second time in six months.
The loan transfer of the Hale End Academy graduate of Nigerian descent to three-time Austrian champions Sturm Graz is imminent.
According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Okonkwo has left EFL League Two club Crewe Alexandra to join Sturm Graz on loan for the remainder of the season.
Only an official confirmation of the transfer by Arsenal and Sturm Graz is pending, with Romano revealing that the shot stopper has completed his transfer following a successful medical.
Sturm Graz had been in the market for a quality goalkeeper after deciding not to renew the contract of Jörg Siebenhandl, who has been on the books of the club for six years.
Okonkwo is expected to travel with his new teammates at Sturm Graz to a training camp in Belek, Turkey early this week.
He could made his competitive debut for Sturm Graz in a Cup match against Salzburg on February 3, 2023.
