Golden Eaglets-eligible striker offered new deal by Arsenal ahead of next season
Published: January 28, 2023Golden Eaglets-eligible striker Daniel Oyetunde has been offered a new deal by Premier League giants Arsenal ahead of the 2023-2024 season.
According to Arsenal youth team guru, Jeorge Bird, Oyetunde has been offered a scholarship at Arsenal for next season.
According to English Football Association rules, all players in the U17 year are required to start the season on a scholarship agreement and the player may remain on a scholarship or may sign as a player under written contract subject to the regulations of the league on or after his seventeenth birthday.
Currently on schoolboy terms, Oyetunde received his first call-up for an U18 Premier League game on Saturday afternoon as Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw by Fulham in a London derby.
The Nigerian made his competitive debut for Arsenal U18 in the 77th minute when he replaced Mathaeus Roberts.
Folarin Balogun and goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who have been loaned out to Stade de Reims and Sturm Graz respectively, are graduates of Arsenal's Hale End Academy.
