Flying Eagles face Congo on Sunday; in talks to play either CF or Benin in second friendly; Ologo update

As first reported by allnigeriasoccer.com on Thursday, Benin Republic, Central African Republic, Gambia and Republic of the Congo are the potential opponents of the Nigeria U20s during their pre-AFCON training camp in Morocco.

This website can authoritatively reveal that the Nigeria Football Federation have concluded talks to play Republic of the Congo in a friendly on Sunday, February 12.

A second friendly is being planned for Wednesday, on the eve of the team's departure from Casablanca, either against Benin Republic  or Central African Republic, meaning Gambia are out of the picture as regards to facing the Flying Eagles.

Meanwhile, some light has been shed as to possibly the real reason İstanbulspor rising star Michael Ologo missed out on a place in the Flying Eagles final 21-man squad for the tournament in Egypt.

Manager Ladan Bosso didn't want to risk including him in the traveling party because the central defender was not properly assessed.

Ologo was sick for a large part of the team's preparations in Abuja and did not feature in most of their preparatory games due to his fitness issues.

The 19-year-old was handed a call-up to join the training camp in Abuja after he was recommended to Bosso by one of his associates.
