Man Utd interested in signing box-to-box midfielder eligible for Flying Eagles
Published: February 12, 2023Manchester United are the latest Premier League giants linked with a move for West Brom schoolboy of Nigerian descent,
Jamaldeen Jimoh.
The box-to-box midfielder has also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City in the past.
Jimoh, who is confirmed to be eligible for the Flying Eagles through his Nigerian father, played non-binding games for the Young Lions at U16 level before he became provisionally cap-tied to England on October 25, 2022 when he came off the bench for the last fifteen minutes of a European U17 Championship qualifier against Lithuania.
The 2006-born player has less than five months until he is eligible to sign a scholarship deal with West Brom.
Championship club West Brom have a fight on their hands to keep hold of the talented midfielder amid interest from clubs higher up the football pyramid in England.
According to the well informed Twitter account The Secret Scout, Manchester United have identified Jimoh for their U18s next season as they aim to add a central midfielder to the new intake of academy scholars.
Jimoh has already made seven appearances in the U18 Premier League whilst still a schoolboy.
