Sherwood namechecks Eze, Olise as he warns Liverpool on dangerous Crystal Palace players
Published: February 25, 2023Liverpool have had issues this season but still remain hopeful of finishing in the top four in the English Premier League.
The Reds won their last two Premier League matches, against Everton and Newcastle United, and kept clean sheets in both, but then they stumbled in the Champions League, suffering a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid at Anfield on Tuesday night.
Crystal Palace are not currently in the relegation zone but need to pick up some points having drawn four of their last five games in the division.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tim Sherwood acknowledged that Crystal Palace are not on the same level as Real Madrid but warned Liverpool that the Eagles have players in their ranks who can wreak havoc.
Sherwood namedchecked two former Super Eagles invitees Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze among the quality players in the Crystal Palace team.
Eze and Olise combined for Crystal Palace's goal in their last outing at Brentford, with the attacking midfielder nodding home an excellent delivery from the number 7.
"They are running out of legs possibly, players are not getting any younger. I think we got a little bit carried away. When they beat Everton they were very poor. Newcastle were down to ten men, goalkeeper gets sent off." Sherwood said on Friday night.
"The good news is that they are not going to play against a team with the quality of Real Madrid .
"Tomorrow it's going to be Crystal Palace but they have their own quality, the likes of Eze, we know Zaha, Olise on the wing.
"They've got players not the quality of Real Madrid obviously but can be very, very dangerous."
Olise and Eze have made three career appearances each against Liverpool without registering a win.
