Super Eagles striker Iheanacho double-nominated for Leicester's Goal of the Month
Published: March 11, 2023
Kelechi Iheanacho is in the running for Leicester City's Goal of the Month award for February 2023.
The Nigeria international has been double-nominated for the monthly accolade for his strikes against Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Against Aston Villa at Villa Park on February 4, Iheanacho brought the scoreline to 2-2 in the 41st minute with a brilliant diving header.
The former Manchester City wonderkid also provided the assists for Leicester City's first and third goals netted by James Maddison and Tetê respectively.
A week later at the King Power Stadium, Iheanacho netted in back-to-back Premier League games for the first time this season as the Foxes earned an impressive 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Leicester City number 14 made it 3-1 following some sloppy piece of defending by Tottenham, guiding the ball into the bottom corner, assisted by Harry Souttar, four minutes into first half stoppage time.
Iheanacho is up against James Maddison (2), Tetê, Dennis Praet, Papy Mendy, Harvey Barnes, Hannah Cain and Logan Briggs for the monthly award.
