Chelsea made it three wins on the bounce in all competitions after beating Leicester City 3-1 in a Premier League encounter at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening.
As for team news, Kelechi Iheanacho has cemented his place in the Foxes starting lineup with the Super Eagles striker making his sixth consecutive start in the top-flight, while Wilfred Ndidi, Noni Madueke and Carney Chukwuemeka started on the bench for their respective teams.
Ben Chilwell, on his return to his former club, put Chelsea into the lead in the 11th minute when he volleyed home a cross from Kalidou Koulibaly, but Patson Daka drew Leicester City level with a sensational strike in the 39th minute.
Joao Felix had a goal disallowed for offside and hit the frame of the goal as well in an absorbing first half.
Leicester City switched off right before halftime, allowing Germany international Kai Havertz to restore Chelsea's one-goal advantage six minutes into first half stoppage time.
Manager Brendan Rodgers made Leicester's fourth change in the 76th minute, bringing on Jamie Vardy as a replacement for Iheanacho, a minute after Ukraine international Mykhailo Mudryk was denied his first Chelsea goal as the offside flag went off after he had raced through and slotted home.
Mateo Kovačić scored Chelsea's third with just over 10 minutes to play, volleying home past the keeper after he was teed up by Mudryk.
Looking to protect the two-goal cushion, Chelsea boss Graham Potter brought on Chukwuemeka in the 82nd minute.
Wout Faes picked up his second yellow card in the 87th minute after a poor challenge on the England U20 international of Nigerian descent and was dismissed.
