London Football Awards : Saka and Son beat Olise to Young POTY, Goal of the Season

Former Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise missed out on two awards at the London Football Awards, which was held at The Roundhouse in Camden on Monday night
The Crystal Palace dazzler had been in the running for the Men's Young Player of the Year where he was nominated alongside Arsenal young stars Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba; and Millwall’s Billy Mitchell.
Olise was beaten to the Young POTY award by in-form Arsenal winger Saka, who is a second time winner of the award after taking the trophy home in 2021.
Olise was also shortlisted for the Goal of the Season for his sensational free-kick goal in injury time in a Premier League clash against Manchester United in January 2023.
The Goal of the Season award was collected by Tottenham Hotspur's South Korea striker Heung-Min Son, who saw off competition from Olise, Ismaila Sarr, Paul Smyth and Laura Wienroither.
Olise's effort against Manchester United was named the Premier League Goal of the Month for January 2023.
Independently judged by leaders from football administration and the football media, the London Football Awards commend the very best of football in the area over the course of a season.
