Published: March 24, 2023With a statement on their official website, Major League Soccer club Houston Dynamo have announced the signing of 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Iffy Udanoh for their reserve team, Houston Dynamo 2.
Udanoh ended his search for a new club after putting pen to paper on a multi-year MLS NEXT Pro contract.
The 19-year-old was on the books of Stoke City on scholarship teams for two seasons before he was released last summer.
He appeared in fifteen matches in the U18 Premier League during his time at the Potters and also featured in the FA Youth Cup and U18 Premier League Cup.
Born in the United States of America, he is also eligible to represent the Americans and Germany at the senior international level apart from Nigeria.
"Iffy’s size, strength, and physicality along with his composure on the ball fit the way we want to play,” Dynamo assistant general manager, Nick Kowba said.
"We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a young domestic player that has European experience.
"He understands the professional environment we can provide and is eager to continue his development with us."
Houston Dynamo 2 begin the 2023 MLS Next Pro season on the road on March 24 against Austin FC II.
Udanoh's move to Houston Dynamo 2 was facilitated by Onside Academy.
