Everton, Wolves, Leicester, Brentford, Palace interested in Arsenal's Super Eagles-eligible forward
Published: April 13, 2023
Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City, Brentford and Crystal Palace are set to slug it out for the signature of Arsenal-owned forward, Folarin Balogun in the summer, according to 90min.de.
Balogun, who is on loan with Stade de Reims, has been exceptional in Ligue 1 this scoring 18 goals, one shy of the top scorers Kylian Mbappe and Jonathan David, who have 19 goals respectively. This explains why there is a long line of suitors for him.
The Hale End Academy graduate will return to Arsenal at the end of the season and may be leaving the club permanently in the summer as he is not interested in another loan deal or contract renewal.
The aforementioned Premier League clubs are ready to sign Balogun to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season.
Everton needs a replacement for the injury-prone Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Leicester City needs an heir to Jamie Vardy's throne, Crystal Palace and Wolves need a proven goalscorer while Brentford are preparing for the possible departure of Ivan Toney.
Balogun is also not short of suitors outside England as he is also on the radar of Spanish, German, Italian and French clubs ahead of the opening of the transfer window.
The 21-year-old has approximately two years left on his contract with boyhood club Arsenal.
