Golden Eaglets-eligible striker on target for Liverpool youth team in win over Leeds United
Published: April 15, 2023Golden Eaglets eligible forward, Elijah Gift scored for Liverpool U18s as the young Reds battered Leeds United 4-0 at Liverpool's Academy Ground on Friday evening.
Jayden Danns gave Liverpool the lead from the penalty spot after Ranel Young was brought down.
Gift scored Liverpool's second goal before halftime when he put the ball neatly past the goalkeeper from Keyrol Figueroa's cross.
Lewis Coumas made it three when he smashed the ball into the net while Danns scored Liverpool's fourth on the stroke of regulation time.
Gift has now scored two goals in the U18 Premier League for Liverpool this season in 15 appearances.
The 16-year-old scored his first goal in the 1-1 draw with Everton in January and has also recorded 2 assists.
Gift has failed to nail a place in the starting XI, starting 6 and coming on as a substitute on nine occasions he has made it to the matchday squad.
The former Huddersfield Town youth teamer started a game for the first time in four matches and would be to hoping his goal helps him keep a place in the squad.
Gift made his debuts in the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League this season.
