Flying Eagles eligible-striker grabs brace for Chelsea youth team against Leicester City

Chelsea U18s got their first away win under Nigerian coach, Hassan Sulaiman as the young Blues beat Leicester City U18s 3-0 in the U18 Premier League at Leicester City Training Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Sulaiman named three players of Nigerian descent eligible for the Flying Eagles in the starting XI with Somto Boniface, Tudor Mendel-Idowu and Louis Flower all getting the nod to start.

Mendel-Idowu and Louis Flower combined to give Chelsea the lead in the 38th minute when the former finished from close range with the latter's assistance.

Mendel-Idowu's goal was enough for the young Blues to take the lead into halftime.

Mendel-Idowu doubled Chelsea's lead with less than 20 minutes to the end of the encounter through a brilliant finish from close range, taking his tally to nine goals in all competitions for Chelsea U18s this season.

Two minutes later, Donnell McNeilly made it 3-0 for the Blues after an excellent piece of work from Mcmahon.

Chelsea have now recorded three consecutive victories under Sulaiman who was confrimed as U18s coach in March but still have their position unchanged on the table.

The Blues sit fifth with 32 points, three points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the Southern group of the U18 Premier League with two outstanding games yet to be played.
