Arsenal loanee Ejeheri adds Veikkausliiga clean sheet to his CV
Published: April 16, 2023
It has taken 2023 Flying Eagles invitee Ovie Ejeheri six games to keep his first clean sheet since transferring to SJK Seinäjoki in the January transfer window.
After two matches in this season's Veikkausliiga, SJK remain unbeaten after a goalless draw with FC Honka on Saturday evening at the Myyrmäki Stadium in Vanta.
In an edgy game with few goalscoring opportunities, it was the home team that came closest to breaking the deadlock from a free-kick, which, however, hit the crossbar early in the second half.
Ejeheri preserved the clean sheet in the 89th minute when he made a brilliant save from a shot that was heading into the bottom corner.
The 19-year-old impressed during his loan spell at Chelmsford City, where he posted eleven clean sheets in twenty one appearances in the National League South.
Prior to the trip to FC Honka, Ejeheri had gone five games without keeping a clean sheet for SJK Seinäjoki.
The goalless draw recorded against FC Honka saw SJK move onto four points in the Veikkausliiga, two less than table toppers HJK Helsinki.
